About Marché Watercolour

An original watercolour each month of whatever was actually good at the Marché d'Aligre that month — artichokes in April, mirabelles in August, a great deal of cabbage in February. Painted on 300gsm cold press, roughly 18×24cm, with the date and the stall it came from written in pencil at the bottom. Occasionally a pigeon appears in the composition. This is not negotiable.

Août — mirabelles

Les mirabelles sont arrivées et elles ne restent que trois semaines.

Mirabelle plums are in and they last about three weeks, so August is mirabelles and nothing else. If you have never had one, they are worth the trip to France on their own.
